Top tips for healthy eating
A healthy diet and lifestyle can increase life expectancy. Today we live in a society that tends to dictate 'what doesn't affect you today isn't worth worrying about'. Unfortunately many of us find out too late the true benefits of taking care of our bodies. The same bodies that we hope will carry us through to a grand old age.
Many of us willingly take time to service and check up on our material possessions such as a car but will rarely think about going for a health check unless sickness arises. A few small changes taken now in your daily lifestyle will make a world of difference to your future. Take action now to increase your health while the going is good, you won't regret it!
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
- Achieve your ideal body weight
- Increase your physical activity
- Do not smoke
- Learn to relax
- Eat a healthier diet
If like me you struggle when it comes to eating your daily allowance of veg? Try this, it was my solution. When eating out I enjoy most types of food from Indian hot and spicy, to Chinese sweet and sour, as well as Italian creamy sauces. While in the supermarket one day it dawned on me that I could try mixing some of my favourite sauces or pickles to vegetables. The result was amazing. I now find myself eating more than the recommended daily allowance! Try a couple of new sauces each week. Make sure you check the ingredients to identify which vegetables it is best served with and choose the sauces that are low in saturated fat and sugars.
